  1. Minor
    A person who is legally under the age of 18. In the context of Elite Scholars, this refers to any student who is still considered a child under South African law and requires a parent or guardian’s consent and oversight for tutoring sessions.
  2. Tutor
    An individual who is hired by Elite Scholars to provide one-on-one or group educational assistance to students. Tutors are responsible for delivering subject-specific instruction and guidance to help students achieve their academic goals.
  3. Student
    A person who is actively enrolled in Elite Scholars’ tutoring services. A student may be a minor or an adult seeking educational support in a particular subject area.
  4. Parent/Guardian
    The legal caregiver or representative of a minor student. This includes parents, legal guardians, or any adult with the responsibility for a minor’s well-being and education. For minors, the parent or guardian must provide consent for tutoring sessions and ensure the student’s safety during in-person sessions.
  5. Tutoring Session
    A scheduled meeting between a tutor and a student intended to provide academic assistance. Sessions may take place in-person or through online platforms, depending on the student’s preferences and the services provided.
  6. Tutoring Service
    The educational services offered by Elite Scholars, which includes personalized tutoring sessions for students in primary school, high school, and university.   7. Confidentiality
