Student Code of Conduct

Please refer to our Glossary of Terms for definitions of key terms used in this page.

Elite Scholars is dedicated to fostering a positive, respectful, and effective learning environment for all students. This Student Code of Conduct outlines the behavioral expectations for students participating in our tutoring services. By engaging with our services, students and their parents/guardians agree to abide by these guidelines to ensure a productive and supportive educational experience.

1. Respectful Behavior

Respect for Tutors: Students must treat their tutors with respect, both during and outside of tutoring sessions. This includes listening attentively, following instructions, and addressing tutors in a courteous manner.
Respect for Peers: If participating in group tutoring, students should respect the contributions and viewpoints of their peers and avoid any behavior that disrupts or distracts from the learning environment.
Respect for Property: Students should respect any materials, equipment, or property used during tutoring sessions, whether in-person or online.

2. Active Participation

Engagement: Students are expected to be active participants in their learning, which includes coming prepared for each session with any necessary materials, assignments, and a willingness to learn.
Effort and Focus: Students should put forth their best effort during tutoring sessions and minimize distractions. This includes limiting the use of mobile phones or other electronic devices unless required for the session.

3. Communication and Attitude

Open Communication: Students should communicate openly with their tutors about any difficulties they are facing with the material. Asking questions and seeking clarification is encouraged to maximize the benefits of the tutoring session.
Positive Attitude: Students should approach sessions with a positive and cooperative attitude, even when the material is challenging.

4. Punctuality and Attendance

Timeliness: Students must arrive on time for all scheduled sessions. If a student cannot attend a session, their parent or guardian should notify the tutor or Elite Scholars management as early as possible.
Commitment: Students are expected to be committed to their learning and attend sessions regularly. Frequent absenteeism or cancellations without notice may result in a review of the tutoring arrangement.

5. Academic Integrity

Honesty: Students must be honest in their academic work and not engage in cheating, plagiarism, or any form of academic dishonesty. Tutors are there to help students understand and learn the material, not to complete assignments for them.
Use of Resources: Students should use the support provided by tutors responsibly, ensuring that they are actively learning and not simply seeking answers.

6. Safety and Conduct

Appropriate Behavior: Students must behave appropriately during both in-person and online sessions. Bullying, harassment, or any form of disrespectful conduct will not be tolerated.
Online Safety: For online sessions, students should ensure they are in a safe and appropriate environment, free from distractions. They should use the provided platforms responsibly and follow any online safety guidelines set by Elite Scholars.

7. Parental/Guardian Involvement

Awareness of Sessions: For minors or primary and high school students, parents or guardians should be informed of and aware of ongoing tutoring sessions. Parents are encouraged to engage in their child’s learning and communicate any concerns or feedback to tutors or Elite Scholars management.

8. Consequences of Misconduct

Warning and Guidance: Minor infractions will result in a verbal or written warning, with guidance provided to improve behavior.
Review of Tutoring Arrangement: Serious or repeated misconduct may lead to a review of the tutoring arrangement, and in extreme cases, the termination of tutoring services.

Elite Scholars is committed to providing an enriching educational experience. We appreciate students’ commitment to this Code of Conduct and look forward to supporting their academic journey.
